Since you’re going to spend money on a flight to Germany or the Netherlands to fetch your new car, why not turn that "logistical mission" into an epic mini-holiday?
After all, you’ll have a new, powerful car in your hands, fresh-smelling, with the best roads in Europe in front of you (yes, I’m looking at you, Autobahn). Instead of doing the trip back to Portugal flat out, eating plastic-wrapped sandwiches at service stations and sleeping in the car, Martin has a better plan for you.
1. The Romantic Route (Germany - Switzerland - France) 🏔️

If you bought the car in southern Germany (Stuttgart or Munich), this is the route for you.
- Day 1: You pick up the car. You do the first kilometres on the Autobahn (no speed limit, but with common sense!).
- Day 2: You head down into Switzerland. Drive through the Swiss Alps, take epic photos of your new car with the mountains in the background.
- Day 3: You enter France via the Annecy area (the cleanest lake in Europe). You eat a fondue, sleep in a nice hotel, and the next day do the final stretch to Portugal through Spain.
2. The Tapas Route (Spain from North to South) 🇪🇸
If you bought the car in France or Belgium, the drive down through Spain can be an incredible gastronomic trip.
- The Plan: Instead of crossing into Portugal straight away at Vilar Formoso or Badajoz, head down the east coast of Spain. Stop in San Sebastián, then Valencia, and follow the Andalusian coast. You eat the best tapas of your life, test the air conditioning of the new car, and arrive in Portugal tanned and full.
3. The Logistical Problem (Solved) 🧳

"Martin, the idea is beautiful, but how do I get to the airport in Portugal if I’m going to drive a different car back?"
This is where people get lost and end up begging friends at 4 a.m. for a lift to the airport. Forget that.
Multipark has the perfect solution: you go to the airport in your current car and we handle the rest.
How does it work?
- You arrive at Departures in your old car. Our Valet Parking driver receives the keys.
- You fly out, buy the new car, and do your dream roadtrip across Europe.
- Meanwhile, we take your old car to your house, or hand it to a family member (or even wash it and store it if you’d rather keep it).
- You arrive in Portugal driving your new beast, head straight home, and the logistics are all sorted by us.
Turn the import into an adventure. Book your Valet Parking on the Multipark website and start your holidays before you even step on the plane!
