Introduction
Prague is one of those cities that seems to step right out of a fairy tale. With its medieval bridges, an imposing castle and lanes that take you to another era, it’s the perfect destination for a few-day getaway. If you have 3 days to explore the Czech capital, this itinerary is for you. The idea is simple: enjoy the best of the city, stress-free and with time to breathe in Prague’s magical atmosphere.
Day 1: The Heart of the Old Town
Day one is dedicated to the historic centre, where Prague’s magic shows in every corner. Start at Old Town Square (Staroměstské náměstí), the city’s beating heart. Let yourself be impressed by the architecture of the surrounding buildings and, of course, by the famous Astronomical Clock. Every hour a small crowd gathers to watch the procession of the apostles. It’s a small show worth catching.
Then climb the tower of the old town hall for a panoramic view over Prague’s red rooftops. The view is incredible and gives you a different perspective of the city.
Near the square, you’ll find the imposing Powder Tower and the Municipal House, a beautiful example of Art Nouveau architecture. Carry on to the Church of Our Lady before Týn, with its towers that look straight out of a Disney film.
In the afternoon, cross the iconic Charles Bridge (Karlův most). The bridge is always full of street artists, musicians and tourists, which gives it a unique atmosphere. On the other side, step into the Malá Strana district, one of Prague’s most charming. Walk its cobbled streets and discover its hidden corners.

Day 2: The Castle and the Views over Prague
Day two is for exploring Prague Castle, one of the largest in the world. The castle complex includes the impressive St Vitus Cathedral, the Old Royal Palace, St George’s Basilica and Golden Lane, an alley with colourful little houses where the writer Franz Kafka once lived.
Set aside a good chunk of the day to explore the castle calmly. The views over the city from the castle complex are spectacular.
After visiting the castle, head down to the John Lennon Wall, a symbol of peace and freedom. From there you can explore Kampa Island, a quiet, romantic area, perfect for an end-of-the-afternoon stroll.
Day 3: Culture, Art and Farewell
The last day is dedicated to Prague’s more cultural and artistic side. Start in the Jewish Quarter (Josefov), where you’ll find historic synagogues and the Old Jewish Cemetery. It’s a visit that takes you into the history of Prague’s Jewish community.
Then head to the Dancing House, a piece of modern architecture that contrasts with the rest of the city. It’s a good spot for some different photos.
In the afternoon, head up to Petřín Park for one last panoramic view over the city. You can walk up or take the funicular. At the top you’ll find a miniature replica of the Eiffel Tower, the Petřín Tower.

What you should know before you go
