Introduction
Seville isn’t a city you visit — it’s one you live. The capital of Andalusia has a contagious energy, a rich history peeking around every corner and food that will make you want to stay. If you have 3 days to surrender to Seville’s charm, this itinerary is for you. No rushing, no stress, just the best the city has to offer. Shall we?
Day 1: The Monumental Heart
Get those legs ready, because day one is dedicated to Seville’s giants. Start your day at Seville Cathedral, the largest Gothic cathedral in the world. Don’t forget to climb La Giralda, the former minaret of the mosque from which the cathedral grew. The 360º view over the city is breathtaking and well worth the climb (which is done by ramps, a nice touch).
After feeling like the king of the world from the top of the Giralda, cross the square and step into the Real Alcázar of Seville. This royal palace, still used today by the Spanish royal family, is a maze of courtyards, halls and gardens that will whisk you away to One Thousand and One Nights. I’d advise buying tickets online in advance to avoid the queues, which can be long.
For lunch, lose yourself in the lanes of the Santa Cruz Quarter, the old Jewish district. You’ll find dozens of tapas bars where you can try the local specialities. In the afternoon, carry on exploring the neighbourhood, discovering its flower-filled patios and hidden squares.

Day 2: The Soul of Triana and the Passion of Flamenco
On day two, cross the Isabel II Bridge, better known as the Triana Bridge, and discover one of Seville’s most authentic neighbourhoods. Triana is the cradle of flamenco and ceramics, and has a very distinctive identity. Stroll through the Triana Market, where you’ll find fresh produce and a few bars for snacking.
After exploring Triana, head back to the historic centre and visit the Plaza de Toros de la Real Maestranza, one of the oldest and most important bullrings in Spain. Even if you’re not a fan of bullfighting, the visit to the museum and the arena is interesting to understand the importance of this tradition in Spanish culture.
In the late afternoon, attend a flamenco show. There are plenty of options across the city, from the more touristy to the more intimate. Pick one that feels authentic and let yourself be carried away by the passion and intensity of this art.
Day 3: Squares, Parks and Palaces
The last day in Seville is meant to be enjoyed slowly. Start at the monumental Plaza de España, built for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929. It’s one of the most impressive places in the city, with its tiled benches representing each Spanish province. Rent a rowing boat and glide along the canal for an even more special experience.
After Plaza de España, relax at Parque de María Luisa, the city’s main park. It’s the perfect spot for a break in the shade of the trees and to watch Sevillians go by.
In the afternoon, if you still have time and energy, you can visit the Casa de Pilatos or the Palacio de las Dueñas, two palaces that are real jewels of Sevillian architecture. Or head up to Metropol Parasol, better known as “Las Setas”, for a different panoramic view of the city at sunset.

What you should know before you go
- Tickets: Buy tickets to the main attractions (Alcázar and Cathedral) online and in advance. You’ll save time and skip the queues.
- Footwear: You’ll be walking a lot, so bring comfortable shoes.
- Heat: Seville is one of the hottest cities in Europe in summer. If you visit in July or August, brace yourself for intense heat and use the hottest hours for a “siesta”.
- Food: Don’t be afraid to walk into tapas bars and try a bit of everything. Tapas are a fundamental part of Sevillian culture.
