Detailed description

§01

How it works

Multipark's charging service was designed for EV and plug-in hybrid owners who need long-term parking (3 days, a week, two weeks) at the same time. You arrive at the park with the car at any state of charge and come back — after a business trip, a holiday, an extended weekend — to a car at 80% or 100% depending on request.

The protocol is simple. At check-in, one of our operators confirms the desired charge level (usually 80% for battery longevity, 100% if you want maximum range) and when you expect to pick up. Based on that window, we plan the cycle: if you're away for a week, it makes no sense to charge in the first 24h and leave the battery floating for 6 days; we spread the charge across the last two days. For lithium batteries this matters — holding the battery at 100% for days accelerates pack degradation.

§02

Available chargers

At selected parks we have three-phase AC chargers at 22 kW — enough to charge a 77 kWh battery (Volkswagen ID.4, Skoda Enyaq, Audi Q4 e-tron type) in 3h30-4h from 20% to 80%. Most EVs accept 22 kW AC natively; some Teslas and Nissan Leafs are capped at 7-11 kW, which we also accommodate.

At major airports (Lisbon, Porto) we also have DC fast chargers (50-60 kW) for special situations — you land with near-empty battery and need to leave soon after — though normal use is AC. Repeated excessive DC, on entry-level cars without active battery cooling, accelerates degradation, so it's not our default.

We support Type 2 (European standard, every EV sold in the EU), CCS Combo (European DC standard), and CHAdeMO adapters for clients with older Nissan Leafs or Mitsubishi Outlander PHEVs.

§03

Pricing and transparency

We charge the kWh consumed (price matching public tariff from EDP Comercial/Galp Electric in Portugal; Iberdrola in Spain — always at day price, no hidden margins) plus a flat operation fee (€6 in Portugal, equivalent in Spain). Total visible in the Multipark app before checkout, never a surprise.

Multipark PRO subscribers get a 10% reduction on the kWh price. For fleets and corporate clients, we have dedicated tariffs — contact our commercial team.

§04

Other advantages

While charging, the car sits in a supervised, covered space (per park) — extra assurance for long stays. We can combine with interior or exterior wash, so you collect the car fully attended: full battery, clean body.

For clients receiving new car deliveries straight to the park (imported or online-bought), we do the initial charge cycle and basic setup (key pairing, over-the-air update if applicable) before you arrive — so you leave ready to drive, not just charged.
